Maleku Indian Village
The most unique cultural experience that you will have during your entire time in Costa Rica: Visit the Maleku Indian Village. Begin with a walk through the jungle where you will learn about different medicinal plants and Maleku customs. Enjoy a delicious traditional meal followed by a typical art project of painting hollowed out gourds. Gather in the Maleku traditional house for a cultural presentation and the opportunity to purchase genuine Maleku masks and art. The tour starts at 9 am and lasts 3-4 hours, minimum 2 people.

– 50-60 minutes from La Fortuna. Directions: From La Fortuna, take hwy 142 west out of town and follow the road north. The road north will turn into hwy 4. Continue for approx 30 km. You will see a small Maleku Indian Village souvenir shop called Rancho Toji Jifuru Arts & Crafts center (N10°39’28.4, W084°47’15.7). The name of the village is Palenque Tonjibe and you need to ask for Dago.
