Riverbank was Absolutely Awesome in every way – Left on 06/02/2014 for a stay in May 2014

We had such a great time on our weeklong vacation to Costa Rica — we spent 4 nights at the Riverbank — William and Laura were fantastic hosts. The apartment was super clean and even nicer than it looks in the pictures and being steps away from the main square of town was ideal for us. Beautiful garden in back where we saw lots of iguanas, birds, frogs and lovely flowers. It was easy to find. Lots of restaurants, shops,a bakery right downstairs, tours available from close by ( many will pick you up at your rental) , even the car rental places you could walk to. And the volcano view just takes your breath away. I won’t go into how much fun we had while there, but you will love your stay at Riverbank. It was very comfortable and safe, a great deal for what you get, and William and Laura make you feel like family. We had dinner with them twice – that’s how nice they are! We loved their dog Kenzie too! What a sweety. Give her a hug for us. We hope to see you guys again ! PS it is also really cool how William and Laura help the community with their rental income – they took us to the local shelter which was a great experience. It was a nice place where the kids seem happy and they are getting the help and love they need. You guys are great! – A TripAdvisor Member

Just what we were looking for! – Left on 04/22/2014 for a stay in April 2014

William was extremely helpful, not only in getting me more information about this rental, but about many other questions and concerns I had about getting around/things to do Costa Rica. These rentals are really great! The location is perfect, they are very clean and have a fantastic view of the volcano. My only regret is not staying longer. Thank you William for everything! – DCL, Chicago

Great location, fabulous host, very comfortable accommodations! – Left on 04/22/2014 for a stay in April 2014

William really went out of his way to set us up with things to do that exceeded our hopes while fitting with our schedule and budget. He even invited us over for a party in his place. Giovanni the wildlife guide he hooked up for us was amazing and gregarious. Best of all, these people are doing good things for the community. – Ross B

A review for William and Laura; if I made any major errors in this let me know, Jim

I can heartily agree with all the positive comments about William and Laura’s condo rental in La Fortuna, and so save you some reading time… In a nutshell our hosts seemed perfectly intuitive regarding whether to be helpful or invisible; in other words they are there when you need them, and welcome your questions. They seem to know everything about the area and have all the contacts and bargains to get you going. I think William is truly interested in showing off his chosen country, and he and Laura went an extra mile with us on several occasions (no details, find out for yourself !) to assure us “Pura Vida.”
The condo itself is great, perfect temperature and air flow, kitchen great, etc. The cathedral ceilings are all open above the bedrooms, kitchen and living areas, so some early-to-bed or late-to-rise folks may be disturbed by lights or noise from other rooms.
High points on our vacation, one whole week dedicated to La Fortuna: the waterfalls (a fantastic swimming experience, although the stairs to get there are definitely a workout), the town access, the wildlife, the agriculture (this country is bursting with planted and wild fruit, small wonder the wildlife is abundant and varied), the two tours with Geovani, (yes that is the spelling, he is a native, a steward of the forest and wildlife, a true gem, with his very own ongoing work in progress, an environmental sanctuary right in town ! ), the Cano Negro river tour, the canyon “water” rappelling, playing with the orphanage children, the wildlife rescue “Proyecto asis” (named after Saint Francis of assisi), the chocolate factory tour, and of course the magnificent ever-steaming volcano (very often visible to the top, our visit avoided the rainy season). It was a perfect vacation for our family. Love from Jim, Roberta, Polina and Artyom – Jim, Roberta, Polina and Artyom, New Jersey
